Nero di Troia is one of Puglia’s most important native black grape varieties. Legend has it that the Nero di Troia grape was brought over to Italy by the Greek hero Diomedes from Homer’s mythical city of Troy.
Cantine Massimo Leone’s Nero di Troia has been aged in French oak. It is bright, intense red in colour with aromas of fruit and jam. Tannins are soft thanks to the fleshiness of the grape, which allows for a later harvest and more complete ripening process.
